JMD Electrical is a licensed Queensland electrical contractor specialising in photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms that meet the Queensland 2027 smoke alarm legislation. We supply and install compliant alarms across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
Use our free House Check wizard to find out how many smoke alarms your home needs to meet Queensland's updated laws. Answer four quick questions about bedrooms, hallways, storeys, and existing alarms, and we'll calculate the number of compliant interconnected photoelectric alarms required.
By 1 January 2027, every owner-occupied home in Queensland must have photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms installed in every bedroom, in hallways connecting bedrooms to the rest of the home, and on every storey. Alarms must be either hardwired (240V) with battery backup, or powered by a 10-year non-removable lithium battery. These requirements are set under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 (Qld).
JMD Electrical services Brisbane and surrounding South East Queensland suburbs. All work is carried out by licensed electricians and prices are quoted in Australian dollars including GST. Free shipping on product orders over $500.
